Have you ever traveled to a place full of wonder? You might always ask, why? Why? Why? In my case, I find the answer by experiencing Negros Occidental.

Culture is learned. It consists of learned ways of living. It is acquired rather than biological instinct. According to Sir Edward Burnett Tylor, a British anthropologist, defined culture as “that complex whole which includes knowledge, belief, art, morals, law, custom and any other capabilities and habits acquired by man as a member of society.” Every place has its own ways of living unique  in their place and differ from other.

Sir Pacete taught me about the culture of Negros Occidental. He talked about its past and the bravery of every Negrense.

Negrenses are truly heirs of wealth in history, culture, and arts. Negros Occidental is rich in architectural treasure, culture, and artifacts that invite cultural treasure hunters in the different regions.

To achieve the objective of the Camp Blog 2010 that is using blogging as a platform in teaching and learning in Filipino history, culture, and arts – the Camp Blog 1C consist of 19 participants from different regions showed excitement in the heritage tour in the three out of 13 cities of Negros Occidental: Silay City, Victorias City, and Talisay City.

Along the journey, the tour guide called as Mr. Ver Pacete give as a passage of what Negros Occidental is. He narrated some of the basic features of Negros Occidental as land of sugar, its landmarks, legend of other city, delicious delicacies, and even the enchanted tree called “Balete Tree.
